Northampton (I just liked the look and feel of this little town on the way down to Geraldton).
Yet another mine train
Some of the countryside in this part of the world.

Our spot in the Geraldton Big4 caravan park.Nice park and nice people. Also right on the beach.
Geraldton main beach and view of the harbour.  No, you can't see a shark.  What you can see is four blokes swimming across the entire width of the beach (very windy and choppy day) and then back again.  Presumably they then went back to work!
This magnificent memorial to the HMAS Sydney which went down in 1942 thanks to mistaking a German ship for a fishing boat!  The story is actually fascinating if you look it up.  There have been lots of theories but the interviews with some of the survivors of the German boat make interesting reading.  645 were lost on the Sydney which went down with all hands some miles off this coast.
The memorial is based around the concept that the dome is made up of 645 birds (645 lost souls) and then the pool has a map of the local area and the ocean and 644 birds flying down into the water and the last soul finally goes down. The woman represents all the women waiting for the return of their men from the "Sydney".
Below left - Ian and Marilyn who helped to make our stay in Geraldton so pleasant.  We actually met them in a couple of other spots on our journey.
Views up towards Geraldton from the c/park.
