I am afraid the title of this page is misleading and it is still mostly of dear old Hervey Bay. The top pictures show the beach directly by our van including one of a very misty morning. Also one of a turtle's head spotted by David during breakfast one morning.  Further on, we went to the Vietnam Vet Memorial Service as we tend to do on August 18th which was well attended this year and very moving indeed.
8 Ball has crept in again and also shots of the Dennis Sisters at the following week's concert right next door to our Park together with fairground and parade!
And the inevitable fireworks which we could see just by walking out of the van onto the beach.  Very convenient.
We were treated to a display of how cormorants spread out to trap fish and hussle them into a group ready for a meal! (the Pelican joined them!)
Our last evening - drinks on the beach, having been joined by some caravaners, Jenny and Jim, with whom we have formed a, we hope, a good friendship, plus the guy who owns the yacht, (Grant) who is a local who sails round the point and camps on the beach in his boat if any events are happening in town!  Lovely bloke.
Emu Park beach and surrounds.  Another beautiful place also with good cycling paths although the Magpies are a lot more vicious in protecting their nests from nasty looking riders!
Emu Park has one of the best war memorials we have ever seen. More later but (left) this is a mural in glass which is amazingly effective as you can see the ocean scene through the glass on the outside section of the memorial.
