This particular mine was huge in its day and now you can walk through the tunnel and look up thru the roof (and the bats will join you!)
The bats were disturbed by Merrin and Owen's dogs. The bats used the same tunnel that we used to crawl to the outside world. Their radar was not very good because they flew into me and one fell onto my shoe. It stayed there long enough to take a photo. I am surprised the photo came out so well.... It was quite dark in the tunnel.
