Welcome to Cindy and David's 2016 Adventures

During our first week we caught up with a number of friends and relatives at various excellent locations.  Firstly, cousin Brenda who has just celebrated (and I MEAN celebrated from all accounts!) her 90th birthday.  Brenda has recently moved into a village where she has her own flat but it is a facility with care and a dining room etc which means she can relax and know she is safe and looked after without totally losing her independence).

The next day we drove, together with Dennis, to Cambridge and met up with old friends from our South African days, Michael and Sylvia.  (Isn't the pub gorgeous?) I worked with Sylvia in Johannesburg before meeting David and we have all been friends ever since.  They moved back to the UK long ago and are now living very happily on the Norfolk/Sussex border.
David and I took the tube to London and met up with David's cousin, Ian Trim, and his wife Julia.  We stayed in California with them last year so now that they have moved to Chelmsford to be with their family, we just had to catch up with them. We had a thoroughly fun time, having lunch plus a walk locally to find the nearest Marks and Spencers for a shopping hungry Australian cousin!

Now THIS couple really do go back to historical times!  Lyn and I have been friends since birth (!) living as were almost next door, and I have known Ted since they first met up in the early 1960's.  They gave us a lovely lunch and we had a great many laughs that day.  Incidentally, Ted and Lyn were at that village green in Harefield the very time we were there with Dennis for lunch!  We just didn't bump into them.
