Welcome to Cindy and David's 2013 Adventures
Note 06     -     Whitsundays
Shute Harbour in the Whitsundays
Shingley beach where two girls were standing on their boards, one had the dog standing on the front like the figures on the bows of sailing clippers. By the time I got the camera out they had both dismounted. One gracefully, the other, less so. The dog looked on unconcerned

We took the 3 Islands tour out into the Whitsundays. On the way to Whitehaven beach, the boat went past Hamilton Island which is probably the most expensive real estate in Australia. The captain pointed out a house that used to belong to George Harrison. Whitehaven Beach is supposed to be one of the top 10 beaches in the world. It is a long stretch of unspoiled powder-white sand. We went on a guided tour through the bush to the top of the hill and had a swim (wearing a stinger suit!) when we returned. Then we went on to Hook Island where David did some snorkelling and then finally Daydream Island to look around the Resort. Very glamorous, huge swimming pool(s), lovely grounds and even an outdoor cinema

The catamaran which took us was very comfortable and kept us fed and watered for the day. One of the best boat trips we have ever taken. Highly recommended. The beauty of the Whitsundays is quite breathtaking]

Daydream Island as the picture says. You just gotta go there some day.
